Christmas Carol Service and Awards Ceremony

Last evening, Saturday December 9th, the rain couldn't damper the strong Tornadoes spirit of the club's members who came out in support of the annual Christmas Carol Service and Awards Ceremony.

Set on the beautiful pool deck of Carmela Azan's home the team sang, recited, danced, and enjoyed the evening's festivities in the drizzling rain.
Emmanuel Knight and his mom showed us the Jewish tradition of Hanukkah with the lighting of the eight candles on the menorah. What then followed was a simple but meaningful program of songs, readings, instrumentals, recitals and ballroom dance by our swimmers.
The theme of Unity was threaded through every item and a beautiful message was delivered by Fr. Honeyghan, priest of St. Jude's Anglican in Stony Hill who spoke of unity in story, song and drums. The program was ably assisted by Chris Denny and Coleen Lyn.

In the true meaning of Christmas our swimmers brought up their wrapped gifts for our charity this year 'Mission to Haiti'.

We then blessed our Christmas dinner and began eating and oh, what a feast it was!!! Delicious and enough for hundreds more.
Our awards ceremony congratulated all our swimmers in stroke, most improved, high performance and special awards including perfect attendance at all swim meets.
