Tornadoes Ends with a Win at the Tornadoes Meet 2019 ( 30th Anniversary Edition)
The Tornadoes Swim Club added some icing to their anniversary celebration with a emphatic win at the recently concluded swim meet May 24 -26, 2019.
Under the new leadership of their executive team the well organized meet was a success. This year all information relating to the meet was posted via the club's website. The highlight was this year's swim meet magazine that was posted on the website (online magazine). Articles featured our past head coach and owner Jackie Beckford-Henriques, one of our longest serving deck officials; Claudia Walters-Chen( past parent and FINA referee) and messages from the fraternity.
Title sponsors Scotia Bank and World Brands came out and supported with time-keepers and prizes throughout the weekend. Other sponsors included Securipro, Tastee, Pure National Ice and many others.
Paula-Anne Porter Jones and our other announcers kept the spectators entertained and engaged as the swimming went under way. Our guests from Lydford Cay, Bahamas and Middies Wave Riders, New York had a great weekend of swimming and placed 6th and 11th respectively.
We amassed a convincing 1663.50 points to win the meet. High Points were awarded to the following swimmers from our club in their age group - Zuri Coke (2nd), Kokolo Foster (2nd), Nelson Denny (1st), Sabrina Lyn (1st), Daniel Mair (1st), Nathaneil Thomas (2nd), Rin Gyles (2nd), Kadian Ingleton (1st) and Pam Anglin (2nd).
A well deserved win to the hardest working club that continues its rich legacy into its 31st year and beyond. Congrats team Tornadoes - coaches, swimmers, parents, masters, past swimmers, executive and supporters.
